Boston Bruins Sign Milan Lucic To 3 Year Extension, Completing Offseason Goals Before NHL Lockout

Published on September 15, 2012 by   ·   2 Comments

The Boston Bruins had three main goals during this past offseason. Knowing that another NHL Lockout was not only likely, but inevitable, the Bruins entered things knowing that they wanted to make sure they locked up three of their top young stars for the next few years.

This morning, just hours before the current collective bargaining agreement is set to expire at midnight tonight, the Bruins have completed their mission.

The long process of locking up three talented leaders is now complete.

After already signing Tyler Seguin to a six year contract extension worth $34 million and Brad Marchand to a four year deal worth $18 million, the Bruins were able to sign Milan Lucic to a three year contract extension worth a reported $18 million.

That guarantees that the three will be leading the Bruins on offense for at least the next three seasons.

When those seasons will begin, of course, is anybody’s best guess.

Either way, the Bruins are all set through the 2015-2016 NHL season with Seguin, Marchand and Lucic back in the fold going forward.
