The bust that was the Toronto Maple Leafs 2011-12 season has a silver lining, and, perhaps, optimism on the horizon.
There’s a glimmer of hope west of the Air Canada Centre at the Ricoh Coliseum, home of the AHL Toronto Marlies.
The Marlies became the first Leafs-affiliated team to clinch the finals since the 1992 St. John’s club.
The go-ahead game was a 3-1 win over the Oklahoma City Barons with the likes of Simon Gysbers and Matt Frattin. Meanwhile Ben Scrivens finished with 26 saves.
