Three goals in nine games is not what Alexander Ovechkin stands for.
But he does stand for making an impression. And that’s what his third goal of his ninth game in the playoffs did: make an impression.
It was a tie-breaker on the power play at Madison Square Garden. Here’s the video:
For Washington Capitals fans, this comes at a time when coach Dale Hunter is limiting Ovi’s ice time to just 13 minutes, 36 seconds, as of Game 2.
Additionally, it comes just days after a rainfall of boos descended from the stands on to Ovechkin every time he was on the ice.
As a result the Capitals tied the series 1-1 with the 3-2 win.
The boos will be elevated towards the men of the New York Rangers, rather, for Games 3 and 4 while Ovechkin will certainly be in his element in front of the home crowd, and hopefully, for his sake, a few more minutes on the ice.
