Chicago Blackhawks’ Corey Crawford deserves all the praise he gets

Published on February 22, 2012 by   ·   No Comments

Corey Crawford has overcome unmeasurable odds.

When the Blackhawks were at the bottom of the tank, Crawford stepped on the gas.

Not just one or two wins in a row, but four. And, two of them — back-to-back — against division foes of the St. Louis Blues and Detroit Red Wings.

The Chicago Tribune today is praising Crawford’s recent efforts as the sophomore goalie apparently is auditioning for his next role: hero.

A goalie win, I suppose, is in the eye of the beholder, but no matter how you describe it, Corey Crawford was great against the best team in the league and probably has been the best goalie in the league in the last week.

Crawford did not just end the team’s suicidal nine-game losing streak, but look at that, he has been in the crease for a four-game winning streak.

Spread the love while we’re at it, and pass some credit to Crawford’s accomplice, Marcus Kruger in the Detroit win. After all, should Chicago had a chance in either game?

Not entirely. But, they’re back, and the Central Division just got much more interesting, again.
