New Jersey Devils rookie Adam Henrique doesn’t practice after sitting out Saturday

New Jersey Devils rookie Adam Henrique has missed five days of ice time, including one game and two practices.

The Devils may proceed with calling up Jacob Josefson from the Albany Devils.

“We just want to rest it as a precaution,” Henrique said after practice. “It felt pretty good (during his pre-practice skate). We’re just day-to-day. We’ll see how it feels tomorrow.”

Devils coach Pete DeBoer, who has labeled the injury to Henrique as “minor,” also said the plan is to see how Henrique feels at tomorrow’s morning skate prior to the Devils game against Winnipeg.

Josefson, another centre the team is currently missing, is rehabbing with the Albany AHL squad. The Devils, however, may push his timetable if Josefson can’t go against Winnipeg tomorrow.

Travis Zajac is currently out with a sore achilles.

Dainius Zubrus skated on the top line with Zach Parise and Ilya Kovalchuk for Henrique on Saturday.

The Devils are currently sixth in the Eastern Conference with 52 points. Henrique has 13 goals and 21 assists in 40 games.
