Don’t expect Zach Parise to be traded if New Jersey Devils stay in playoff position

The New Jersey Devils have taken a turn for the better rounding up the first half of the season.

And, that, has many to believe that Zach Parise won’t be dealt if the Devils continue to stay above the cusp of the playoff bench mark.

Currently in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, the Devils are holding their own with 48 points, two points above the eight-place Pittsburgh Penguins.

Will it be enough? The Devils will ultimately take a gamble on what to do with the upcoming free agent.

But, NJ.com is saying Parise wants a Stanley Cup contender.

For me that’s probably the biggest thing,” Parise said. “The money is definitely important. That’s real life, let’s face it. I’m not going to say it’s not. That’s realistic. But most important for me is being competitive and having a chance to win the Stanley Cup.”

Will GM Lou Lamoriello take this into consideration at trade deadline? Will Parise take off for a heavy hitter in the East, especially one with a big of money to spend?
