Calgary Flames C Mikael Backlund practically predicts first goal on Twitter

Published on December 4, 2011 by   ·   No Comments

The 22-year-old Mikael Backlund, centre for the Calgary Flames, had a pretty good feeling about tonight, his 11th NHL game this season, and just his 108th career game.

Mikael Backlund had a good feeling today on Twitter about the upcoming game against the Edmonton Oilers. He scored his first goal of the season.

Earlier today, he tweeted the following:

“Thnx guys! Have a good feeling about tonight. #HNIC #gameday

Who would have thought?

With just 11 career goals in just over a year’s worth of playing, he added one more goal, and got over that hump in the season with his first of the season.

The goal lifted the Flames to a 4-3 lead late in the third period, and turned out to be the game-winner. Calgary won 5-3 with an Olli Jokinen empty netter.
