Jordin Tootoo is a target of criticism after running over Ryan Miller during the goalie's first game back from a concussion.
That’s the saying going around tonight after the Olympic goaltender and starting goaltender for the Buffalo Sabres returned to action Saturday against the Nashville Predators.
Miller spent some time out off the ice due to a mild concussion when Milan Lucic of the Boston Bruins ran over the star goalie.
Now, back-to-back games for Miller, he’s faced certain threat, and instigation.
This time, however, his reaction was only the better:
Got to love how he uses the glove one moment from dodging the leaping airborne Jordin Tootoo, who apparently made little attempt to avoid a collision, and started pummeling the ninth year veteran. You’d think he would know better.
Some are arguing he didn’t have time to stop, and, that jump, was him turning and twisting to avoid a collision.
But, not quite, others say.
First off, Miller, this time, was in the crease, and, practically in the net.
Christian Ehroff gave Tootoo a nudge and even attempted to guide Tootoo out of the play. However, the Nashville forward fought the pull kept the play, without the puck even, and made a decision. And not to mention the fact Miller, this time, was in the crease, and, practically in the net.
Miller’s decision to retaliate, however, was even better.
