The Minnesota Wild and Calgary Flames featured an unusual bout Tuesday evening in Calgary.
Brad Staubitz and Tim Jackman left the confusion to some. Staubitz, however, is finding his way as an enforcer, with +20 minutes in the box and on to his third scrum of the season. He’s your average early 20s-something looking to solidify a spot in the NHL after taking on 13 battles in the AHL last season.
As for the fight, here’s how it went down.
Jackman contained Staubitz from being able to land a punch, and then, gassed out of energy, a lot of clutching occurred.
Staubiz clanged onto Jackman with a loss of any other options to engage in physical combat. Jackman in the process was able to pounce a couple of soft blows until the officials broke up the fight. (If you can call it that.)
